OKX Referral Code
Register on OKX through a referral link as a European user and the landing page headlines a welcome reward of €400, but the amount you are actually offered is set per user, shown only inside the app after you sign up, paid in crypto, and locked for up to 45 days once you have completed deposit and trading tasks.
51674258If you sign up through this page, this site may receive the referrer's side of the reward. This never costs you anything extra.
Requirements to qualify
- You sign up with the referral code entered at registration.
- You complete KYC, then a qualifying deposit AND a qualifying trade; the referrer gets €20 per referred user. Rewards lock for up to 45 days.
What you get, and what it takes
Start with the honest version of the headline. That figure is a marketing number, not a payout you have been promised. OKX's New User Bonus terms for the EEA, last updated on 31 July 2026 and read on 28 August 2026, say the program runs multiple reward tiers whose availability, amounts and requirements vary by jurisdiction, campaign period and user segment. The number that applies to you appears in Campaign center, under Welcome Rewards, only after the account exists. You commit to the tasks before you know what they pay.
The tasks are described only in general terms. A deposit task is satisfied by a crypto transfer or a fiat top-up through SEPA, iDEAL, Bancontact and similar rails, with internal transfers between your own OKX balances explicitly not counting. A trade task is satisfied by a buy, sell or convert order or a spot order book trade above a minimum. Both thresholds live in the app rather than in the terms, so nobody can tell you in advance how much you need to move.
One exclusion is worth knowing before your first trade. Trades on the USDC/EUR pair do not qualify, and neither do buy, sell or convert transactions between USDC and USDG, USDC and USD, or USDG and USD. USDC/EUR is the one pair OKX charges nothing to trade, so the cheapest transaction available to a European user is also the one that moves you no closer to the bonus.
The condition that kills most claims is the one nobody reads. The bonus exists only for accounts created through a designated promotional channel, meaning a specific partner referral link or an official OKX campaign page. OKX states that an account opened outside such a channel is ineligible even after every task is completed, and that it cannot grant the bonus manually once the eligibility check confirms this.
Which OKX a European actually signs up to
This matters more here than on most exchanges, because the global okx.com brand and the company serving you are not the same legal entity. Follow a European invite link and you land on my.okx.com, on an en-eu page. Behind it sits OKX EUROPE LTD, a private limited company registered in Malta under number C88193, with its registered office at Piazzetta Business Plaza, Office Number 4, Floor 2, Ghar il-Lembi Street, Sliema SLM1562, per the conflicts of interest disclosure in OKX's own EU help centre, checked on 28 August 2026.
The same document dates the authorisation precisely. OKX Europe Ltd has been authorised as a crypto-asset service provider under Malta's Markets in Crypto Assets Act since 27 January 2025, and since 14 February 2025 has been able to passport that authorisation into 27 EU countries under article 63 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1114, the rulebook usually called MiCA. Supervision sits with the Malta Financial Services Authority. On its own invite page OKX describes itself as the first global exchange to secure a MiCA licence, and says the licence is backed by MiFID II and Payment Institution authorisations.
Be clear about what that buys you. MiCA brings conduct supervision, an obligation under article 72 to publish the conflicts disclosure quoted above, and an obligation under article 66(5) to publish environmental data for every listed asset. It brings no compensation scheme. If OKX Europe failed you would be a creditor in a Maltese insolvency, not a claimant against a guarantee fund, and OKX's own EEA risk disclosure says plainly that crypto assets are not backed by any government or central bank.
The referral is entity-bound too. OKX's EEA terms require both people to sit under OKX Europe Ltd, so a code issued on the global platform will not work for you. The risk disclosure also lists locations OKX will not serve at all, including the United States, Canada, Japan, India and Malaysia, and strips derivatives, cefi and peer to peer trading from United Kingdom users.
What it costs to use, and where the real cost hides
The published spot pricing is genuinely competitive. On the OKX Europe fee page, checked on 28 August 2026, a regular user pays 0.0800% as a maker and 0.1000% as a taker, and stays in that band until assets reach €100,000 or 30-day volume reaches €1,000,000, which covers essentially every retail account. Bitvavo's entry tier charges 0.25% to a taker on euro pairs, verified on Bitvavo's own fee page on 28 August 2026, so OKX charges well under half what a comparable Dutch venue charges a beginner.
The stablecoin table goes further. USDC/EUR is listed at 0.0000% for both maker and taker, for all users, at every tier. Moving euros into USDC and back costs nothing, with the caveat above that those trades count for nothing toward your welcome tasks.
Now the part the fee page does not cover. The buy button and the Convert screen charge no fee, they quote you a price. OKX's own Trade menu on the EU site describes Convert as quick conversion with zero trading fees and no slippage, and the zero fee is literally true. The mark-up is inside the rate. On 28 August 2026 at 12:12 UTC the instant order widget on the OKX Europe buy page quoted 0.01450169 BTC for €1,001, roughly €69,026 per bitcoin. At that same minute the BTC/EUR spot order book on the same site was offering that quantity at an average of €68,321, so buying on the book would have cost about €991 including the 0.1000% taker fee. The instant route cost about €9 more, roughly nine times the fee you would have paid trading manually.
That was one quote on one pair at one moment, and OKX publishes the mark-up nowhere, so treat it as the shape rather than a fixed rate. The habit it teaches is permanent: before confirming any instant buy, open the spot page for the same pair and compare. Press only the buy button and you pay an unpublished spread on every purchase while calling it free.
Two more things belong in your cost picture. The euro books are thinner than the dollar ones, so a large market order can slip: the BTC/EUR ticker on the OKX Europe trading page showed 77.98 BTC of 24-hour volume, about €5.36 million, on 28 August 2026, against 446 BTC on BTC/USDC at the same moment. Fiat deposit and withdrawal charges sit behind the login on the balance screen and could not be read without an account, so check those in the app before you fund it.
Claiming it without wasting the attempt
Eligibility is decided before the account exists, so the order matters.
- Have a current OKX invite link or code ready before you start. An account opened outside a designated channel cannot be made eligible later.
- Register through the link on the European site, so you are onboarded to OKX Europe Ltd, then complete identity verification.
- Open Campaign center, then Welcome Rewards, and read the amount and the deposit and trade thresholds assigned to your account. This is the first point at which you know what you are working for.
- Fund it with an external deposit, not a transfer between your own OKX balances, then place a qualifying trade away from the excluded stablecoin pairs.
- Allow up to 48 hours for crediting once the tasks show as complete. Whoever's link you used earns €20 per friend, capped at five.
- Check the unlock date under Rewards Centre, then My Rewards, before you plan to spend anything.
Pros, cons, and who this actually suits
What OKX Europe does well is price and paperwork. A 0.1000% taker fee at the entry tier is among the lowest published by any exchange holding an EU licence, the zero-fee USDC/EUR pair is unusually generous, the operating company and its Malta registration number are disclosed openly, and the MFSA passport covering 27 countries is verifiable rather than asserted. The invite page counts 300 or more tokens and 160 euro-based pairs.
The drawbacks cluster around the offer itself. You cannot learn what the bonus pays, or what it demands, until the account already exists. The reward arrives as crypto whose value moves, locked for up to 45 days during which you can trade it but not withdraw it. The instant buy path most beginners default to carries an unpublished mark-up worth many times the spot fee. And the licence, real as it is, protects conduct rather than your balance.
Sign up if you will trade actively enough to care about a 0.1000% taker fee, you will place your own orders on the spot screen rather than using the buy button, and you want a named European entity with a searchable regulator behind it. If you are a first-time buyer who wants one predictable reward for one predictable action, look at Bybit EU instead, which credits €25 in bitcoin for a €100 deposit inside 7 days, verified on its own pages on 28 August 2026. Smaller, and far more certain.
The hold that can freeze money you already owned
OKX documents this openly in the New User Bonus terms, which is more than many exchanges do. When a crypto reward lands, OKX places a hold on your balance equal to the live market value of the reward quantity, not its value on the day it was granted. The hold floats with the price continuously, and it survives you selling the reward.
OKX's own worked example shows the problem. You receive 0.001 BTC while bitcoin sits at $100,000, so the reward is worth $100. You sell it and hold $100 in cash. Bitcoin rises to $120,000, and the hold is recalculated as 0.001 BTC multiplied by $120,000, giving $120. Your available balance of $100 is now smaller than the hold, so the whole balance shows as locked, including money that was never part of the bonus. OKX calls this expected behaviour rather than an error.
Two related clauses sharpen the point. Assets moved into OKX Pay reduce your account balance and can therefore affect eligibility, so spending from the balance during the qualifying period can cost you the reward. And if OKX decides the terms were breached, it can claim the bonus value back or deduct it from your account.
The practical rule is simple. Treat a locked reward as untouchable until the unlock date shows in Rewards Centre, and keep money you might need somewhere else meanwhile. A bonus you cannot spend is a poor reason to have your own cash frozen for a month and a half.
OKX referral code FAQ
Will I definitely get €400?
No. That is the top of the advertised range for the campaign, not an entitlement. OKX's EEA New User Bonus terms state that reward tiers and amounts vary by jurisdiction, campaign period and user segment, and that the figure applying to you is displayed in Campaign center under Welcome Rewards only after you have registered.
What does OKX Europe charge to buy crypto?
A regular user pays 0.0800% as a maker and 0.1000% as a taker on spot, holding that rate until assets reach €100,000 or 30-day volume reaches €1,000,000. USDC/EUR is free for both sides at every tier. Those rates are on the OKX Europe fee page, checked on 28 August 2026, and they apply to orders you place yourself on the spot screen.
Can I add an OKX referral code after I have signed up?
No. Eligibility depends on the account having been created through a designated promotional channel, and OKX states it cannot grant the bonus manually if the eligibility check shows the account was opened elsewhere, even when every task was completed. The link has to come first.
Why is my reward locked, and why is my own money locked with it?
Rewards are held for a qualifying period of up to 45 days, during which you can trade them but not withdraw them. Separately, OKX places a hold on your balance equal to the live market value of the reward quantity, which floats with the price and remains after you sell the reward, so a rising market can leave more of your balance frozen than the reward was worth.
Is the instant buy button more expensive than trading normally?
It has no fee line, but the price carries a mark-up OKX does not publish. On a single quote captured on 28 August 2026, buying €1,001 of bitcoin instantly cost around €9 more than the same purchase on the BTC/EUR order book including the taker fee. Compare the instant quote against the spot page before confirming, every time.
Is my money protected if OKX Europe goes under?
Not by any compensation scheme. OKX Europe Ltd is authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority as a crypto-asset service provider under MiCA and passported into 27 EU countries, which brings supervision, conflicts disclosure and reporting duties. It is not deposit insurance, and OKX's own risk disclosure says crypto assets are not backed by any government or central bank.
